I am the webmaster for Chester Civic Trust and I would like your permission to use one of your Christmas photos on the front page of our website. www.chestercivictrust.org.uk
I would, of course, give you full credit immediately under the chosen photo. A quick response would be very much appreciated Thanks for your help. Colin
I'd be happy for you to use the image/images you wish. The Civic Trust have featured some of my images previously in a competition.
We do not know each other from Adams! I was at Leighton Buzzard railway in September 2012 and talked with a trade stand there sellin photos. I should have bought one, regret not doing so, and am now trying to trace that owner. Jonathan Clay, was there next to him, andAlf Fisher of LBRly, cannot remember who it was, having no kept records of Trade visitors. BUT, AlfFisher did say on the phone to me, "Maybe it was Ron Sutton". Well I looked at yourweb site and I think not, but just in case I thought I might as wella sk you by email.
My telephone number is 01604 407739 (just in case!)
Sorry to trouble you
Thanks for the query Myrddin but it wasn't me. BTW who is Alf Fisher - he seems to know me!
I like the new look but then, your photographs would look good anywhere.
All the best,

Windmills of La Mancha
I am writing to ask if your photo "Windmills of La Mancha" can be used (with full accreditation to you) to illustrate my article about La Mancha. The article will appear in "Source" - the online journal of the Literary Division of the American Translators Association (ATA). There is no budget, so we could only use it if there is no charge.
Many thanks for your time,
Thanks for your enquiry. I would be delighted for you to use the image freely and look forward to seeing the finished article in due course. I'll e - mail you directly with a hi - res copy suitable for printing.

Permission to use photo
As a lover of organ music, I have been collecting organ images and sound for my website
Each page of this website contains a description of the organ, good quality YouTubes and photos, mainly sourced from Flickr. All images are linked to the source page. At the bottom of the page I added a copyright notice.
I just finished this page, where I used a photo of yours:
In asking for permission, AFTER the image is already uploaded, photographers have a chance to see their work in context and can make an informed decision as to give permission or not. You’ll notice your photo is in good company. I hope I have your permission to use it. However, if you are not happy with this, let me know and I'll remove the image.
My thanks in advance.
P.S. If you click your name, you’ll find it links back to your page.
Thanks Henry for your note and feel free to use the image and thanks for asking. I would appreciate a link back to this site www.ronsuttonimages.com
how are you?!
Hi Ron, you most likely don't remember me. we met in Sydney about a week ago. Im the girl from Perth who was in sydney for a few days for a concert. I've just had a look at your photos and i must say they are absolutely beautiful! Being a photographer (only as a hobby) myself your photos have given me a lot of inspiration to apply to my own work. I hope both you and your wife are doing well and you enjoyed spending time with your family in Australia. it was so nice to meet you both. take care! - Coby
It was good to meet you and I hope you enjoyed the concert! Glad you liked the photos - there are so many great locations in the UK. I'm just about to start on the images from the Queensland trip - that should keep me busy for a while!
Hi Ron, A really excellent display of your obvious skill and imagination. My father was a keen photographer and would have loved these. I shall be sending your site details to my friends here and in USA. Great stuff.
Best wishes - see you soon
Hi Ron - I spotted one of your images next to mine in the Great British Life Editor's Pick. Very nice work if I may say so.
Would you like 6 of your images to be included in the Gallery of Better Photographs? - http://www.better-photographs.com/gallery-of-better-photographs.html
Images such as yours are an inspiration and will help give ideas to those who want to progress. The site is a free knowledge centre which I set up when I retired to "give something back". It now has over 200,000 regular readers and is ranked number 1 at the search engines for many of its keywords. You will see that the site has many contributions from experienced photographers who like the idea of the site. All images, articles and masterclasses carry appropriate credits and links to the contributor's website.
You may have seen the blog I contribute to GBL - http://www.greatbritishlife.co.uk/community/blogs/entries/a-quest-for-better-photographs-with-john-curgenven/id/482/
Looking forward to the possibility of hearing from you.
Thanks John for that invitation - thats sounds great. I've replied directly to you via e-mail.
Yes Ron a very beautiful model! And well photographed methinks. But those views are truly magnificant. Thanks very much for the chance of seeing them.

I HAVE JUST FOUND YOUR WEB PAGE AND I JUST HAD TO TELL YOU. YOUR PHOTOS ARE AMAZING, I WAS FEELING A BIT FED UP BUT AFTER GOING THROUGH YOUR WONDERFUL IMAGES I FEEL ON TOP OF THE WORLD. PLEASE DONT STOP
Thanks for those comments Cynthia glad you liked my efforts.
Just wanted to say how beautiful your pictures are, I haven't lived in Chester since 1987 however I do visit 2/3 times a year. I came upon your work via a link on Facebook (Handbridge.com) The photos of the Groves and River Dee in winter are breathtaking!
Thanks for that Karen - much appreciated.
Good to meet you yesterday and fantastic to see your pictures today - an amazing collection.
What settings do you recommend to view the photographs? I have a 22 ins display and resolution set at 1280x768 but it was a shame to have to scroll to see the whole picture in very many cases, even after I had disabled all the optional toolbars.
Thanks for your kind words - glad you enjoyed the collection.
My monitor is an NEC 23" and is set to their recommendation 1920 x 1080. Hope this helps.
Your images of Wales.
I have had a look at some of your photographs on this site and on the Cheshire Life website and I am impressed with the quality of the images and your choice of locations.
Some of the photographs in the 'Wales' gallery have been taken in locations that I am familiar with, being born in Cerrig-y-Drudion (in 1934), on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. It is my favourite location for taking landscape photographs. I live in Cheshire now.
I have to correct your spelling in two instances, both to do with 'Capel Curig' - you spelt it 'Capil Curig'. 'Capel' is the Welsh word for 'Chapel', so think of it as 'Chapel' then drop the 'h', as it were!
If you would like to see some of my photographs, let me have your e-mail address and I will send you a small selection. Landscapes; wildlife (mainly birds) and low-flying military fast jets are my main interests, but will make use of any photographic opportunity.
Wishing you all the best for Christmas and the New Year,
Thanks for your kind words (and typos now duly corrected). We like walking and the camera always goes along so you do find the locations on foot which you might not in a car!
I'll send you my e-mail address and look forward to seeing your work.
Best wishes to you
Congrats on the site you have some stunning images, I especially liked some of the trees in winter, some have and IR feel to them. At 1st I thought I had arrived at my own site as the look and feel are very similar - johncharlesphotography.com.
I found your site through The Pic, ( Im a fellow contributor), I am a Brit but I now live in Canada. I noticed that you are affiliated with Clownfish as well as The Pic and I wondered if you would be prepared to have a discussion via email on selling options in the UK and generally how you are finding the volume of sales through The Pic.
Anyway thanks for you time.
Thanks for your kind words - much appreciated! Strange you should mention trees in winter - image #1176 on www.thepic.co.uk ('Three Trees' on this site in the Winter gallery) has just won a rather nice Canon camera for me in a competition in a national magazine.
I'll e-mail you on the other points you raised.

Dear Mr Sutton
just looking at your excellent photograph in September edition of Lancashire Life and wonder where I can purchase a copy ?
My wife and I are great fans of RA and were watching them at Windermere on the same day. We were greatly saddened by the recent death of Red 4 and we think this would make a fitting memorial. Thanks.
Thanks for that Paul. http://thepic.co.uk/photographers/

Excellent website ron,
Site looks good Ron
great photos Ron and a nice fast web site
Nice website Ron, and a wonderful gallery
Hi Ron, great website and so easy to navigate round. Love the photos, especially the ones of Wales, funny thing though, I went there on holidays
a couple of years ago but seen nothing like that. I was very disappointed with it and said that I would never go back, but, seeing your photos
I think that I'll have to rethink that decission....( I only wish my photography was as good...lol) Tony
Thanks for the comments Tony. It's all about the right weather which of course gives the right light!
You have a very nice gallery. Thank you for sharing.
Mr_Foster from Thailand.
a comment on your photos.
I just noticed you on that crazy magazine forum that nobody uploads or comments anymore.
I've been looking at this site... clicking through it.. I have not finished yet. But one thing has struck me - jumped out at me is that your sense of composition is superb!!!
Well done... and keep them coming.
Thanks Aynia for the comments and good to hear from you again. If you look in 'links' you'll find another mag website with some more shots on there.
Site looks good Ron.
Great photos Ron - what sort of camera do you use? I'm working with a brilliant compact camera - Olympus Mu. It's great, waterproof, shockproof etc
but like all compacts it takes about 1 second to compose the picture - useless for wildlife/action pics like the eagle and red kite you shot.
Hi Phil - and thanks for your comments.
The Eagle was taken with a Sony a100 and the Red Kite with my current camera a Sony a700 (see biog).
My lenses are all Sigma, a 10-20, a 17-70, and a 70-300.
Great idea to create a website. Super photos!
